Quantitative Equity Strategy

During my time as an equity trader, I used much of my free time to develop a quantitative trading strategy that displays highly promising backtested results. The strategy involves using a simple, yet effective concept to be early to stock momentum and reap the short term benefits of positive or negative price action. I have experimented with many statistical techniques to improve and refine my strategy, which is now ready for the process of production deployment.

The most promising and convincing version of my code was written in C++, backtested using 5 min candle data for all equities that are presently listed in the NSDQ, NYSE, and ARCA exchanges. While avoiding the dangers of overfitting, I applied statistical techniques to narrow the universe of tickers to those with price action that aligns with the conditions of success for my strategy. The results are a backtest that demonstrates consistently high returns and a high Sharpe Ratio. I have included a public repository on my GitHub that contains a proof of concept version of my quant strategy without revealing the key elements that generate alpha.
